Sunday 19th March – 2.30pm St Marie’s Cathedral: Five Choirs: Sounds From Heaven: Five of the city’s best chamber choirs will be nestled and perched all around the Cathedral Church of St Marie, which boasts some of the finest acoustics in Sheffield. Robert directs the Sheffield Chamber Choir and Sterndale Singers who will be joined by the Abbeydale Singers, Sheffield Choral and Viva Voce performing works by John Tavener, Arvo Pärt, Felix Mendelssohn and others. The concert will also fe

ature the premiere of Kraal – a commission from Jenny Jackson of Platform 4.

Saturday 18th March – 3.30 pm Firth Hall: Sterndale Singers and Bel Canto combine to bring you Puccini’s  exuberantly rich and colourful Messa di Gloria. Written before his famous full-scale operas, including Madama Butterfly and La Boheme, an 18-year-old Giacomo Puccini blended opera with church music to create this joyful masterpiece.
